Urban Renewal, Residential Housing | 201

Central Taipei City is currently grappling with elevated population density, primarily attributed to the numerous employment opportunities it offers, leading to an influx of suburban residents. This situation is compounded by the inadequate fire resistance of existing inner-city dwellings, failing to align with contemporary safety standards. In response to this issue, the project seeks to address these concerns by demolishing an aging three-story structure and replacing it with a 15-story high-rise apartment complex.

Thorough analysis of the site has informed the proposed design approach. The plan entails the integration of floor-to-ceiling windows, affording occupants picturesque views of the adjacent local park. The building's façade will exhibit a dynamic visual composition achieved by arranging windows in two-story configurations, producing an intriguing staggered pattern.

The building's entrance lobby, situated on the ground floor, will feature a privacy-conscious yet light-enhancing wall comprised of a blend of translucent glass and red clay bricks. This design balances the inflow of natural light while ensuring privacy. In the evening, the interior illumination will emit through the façade, creating an aesthetically captivating lantern-like effect.

The project embraces a holistic approach to spaces, considering both individual and communal needs. As a testament to this, a rooftop garden has been seamlessly integrated, offering residents an opportunity to enjoy sunlit moments and a panoramic city vista. This amenity fosters a harmonious connection with nature, complementing the nearby urban park's presence.

Employing Rhino and V-Ray, the high-rise apartment complex's design has been meticulously crafted to enrich residents' living experiences. The careful incorporation of features like expansive windows, an engaging façade, and an accessible rooftop garden aims to establish a harmonious convergence of contemporary urban living, natural aesthetics, and convenience within the vibrant landscape of Taipei City.
